Our 4-Day AST 2 Course is designed for experienced backcountry skiers and riders looking to build advanced avalanche safety and decision-making skills. The course combines classroom sessions with field-based training, covering trip planning, terrain assessment, snowpack analysis, rescue scenarios, and leadership in avalanche terrain. Participants will spend four days touring in the backcountry while developing practical skills in real mountain conditions. Participants must have completed AST1.
Notebook, pen, and any course materials. Avalanche gear, if you have it (beacon, shovel, probe - available for rent). Splitboard, touring skis, snowboard, or skis (you will need some form of transport down the mountain!). Lunch, water, and snacks. Dress for variable winter weather and bring enough warm layers.
*Must have completed AST1 and provide a copy of certificate *Minimum Intermediate+ Level Ability Required. *Places are limited. *SUBJECT TO ADEQUATE SNOW COVERAGE.
